A Course in People Skills for the Sustainable Development Goals
25.10. till 6.12.2023
In this 6-week guided online course you will gain a selection of directly applicable insights and learn to use tools that will help you to lead or facilitate transformation processes more effectively, easily and joyfully.
Do we really want to fulfil the Sustainable Development Goals? Stating them and agreeing on them was just a first step. The challenge remains how we put them into practice, i.e. how transformation can be initiated and maintained. How can we do that in a graceful and effective way?
It is an art to lead transformation processes that include changes in thinking, behaviour and structures. What is often in the way is not a lack of knowledge or of technical or administrative solutions, but a lack of people skills. Our intention with this course is to help contribute to the success of as many of these important SDG-relevant transformation processes as possible. Our hope is that those who are committed to striving for a livable, sustainable, healthy and peaceful future can support transformation processes with joy and ease.
Basic Knowledge about Transformation Processes towards the SDGs
Insights from your hosts’ almost 20 years of experience with transformation processes. You will receive valuable hints and tricks about what is important, how to avoid typical pitfalls and how to set up a transformation process properly right from the start.
Practical Transformation Tools
A set of directly applicable tools for your transformation practices with step-by-step instructions. You will try out some of the tools in the course and learn what is important.
Support for Your Transformation Project
Support for and feedback on your current or planned transformation project through professionally facilitated peer-to-peer exchange in expedition groups of maximum 5 persons.
Access to the Hosting Transformation Community
You will become part of our Hosting Transformation Community of Practice and have access to our internal forum, which you can continue to use after you have completed the course; you will also have access to extensive self-study material.
A Wise Choice
All this will help you to courageously initiate and foster transformation processes. Throughout the process, you will repeatedly be enabled to confidently bring about wise decisions , for example by clarifying intentions, analysing contexts, generating ideas or implementing concrete decisions.
Facilitators and Leaders
The course is aimed at initiators or facilitators of transformation processes for a livable and sustainable world - from the role of leader of a process or as a process facilitator from outside. It is suitable for practitioners with previous experience in leading or facilitating group processes as well as for facilitation professionals who want to design their transformation processes more joyfully and with greater ease, confidence and impact.
Jutta Goldammer brings to her seminars the experience she has gained over 20 years as founder and director of the Visionautik Academy, as a consultant, trainer and process facilitator in profit and non-profit organisations.
In addition, her empathetic and creative way of leading seminars is inspired by impulses from her training in organisational development, ritual process facilitation, conversation facilitation as well as her studies in education and art.
Boris Goldammer supports and advises in developing and connecting with dreams, visions and plans.
His warm-hearted, helpful nature is just as much a part of this as his expertise as a project developer and his many years of experience as a manager in international education and innovation projects.
The online course consists of 4 modules that highlight central aspects of transformation processes and make them tangible and practically applicable:
Developing a transformative attitude
Dealing with complexity
Tapping into collective wisdom and creativity, and
Motivation, activation, commitment & harvesting.
The course provides well-founded and practice-tested background knowledge and enables direct testing and reflection on the course content and learning from transformation projects that the participants bring along themselves.
Scope of the course:
4x 2h interactive webinars on the respective focus topics
3x 1/2h Q&A sessions
3x 1,5h Peer group work in small expedition groups (of which the first is facilitated by co-facilitators, the following are self-organised)

Our methodology and didactics
EXPERIENCE-ORIENTED Wherever possible, we make the principles, insights and methods in our course directly tangible. Through your own experience, you can then judge for yourself what works and how it works, and quickly get a feel of what tools to use when.
VARIED We work in a methodologically varied and multi-sensory way to address not only your head but also your senses and yourself as a whole person. We will prove to you that this also works excellently in online seminars. Our aim is to make it easy for you to maintain a high energy level and to engage in the learning process with fun and concentration.
RELEVANT It is important to us to impart living knowledge that can be directly linked to your transformation projects - in your professional or private life, depending on what you want to apply it to. Therefore, we provide a lot of space for joint discussion of the transformation challenges and questions from your own practice.
SAFE We create an atmosphere where it is easy to try things out and feel safe in venturing new thoughts or sharing personal experiences.
APPRECIATIVE We have a consistently appreciative approach. For us, this means using the diversity of individuals and thought cultures as a resource, as well as strengthening strengths rather than stressing weaknesses.
Modul 1 - Developing a Transformative Attitude
Topics of this module include: Psychological safety, beginner's mind, creator's mindset, appreciation and resource orientation, ambiguity tolerance, reversal thinking, power of intention, diversity orientation and process thinking.
The mindset with which we initiate or accompany a transformation process and the attitudes and values we promote through our process design are decisive for the group culture during the entire process. Therefore, it is worthwhile designing this aspect consciously and aligning it with the goals of the transformation process. We will explore some of the attitudes that we have experienced time and again as essential drivers of successful transformation processes.
In this module you will also get to know some settings and methods that put these attitudes into applicable practice and create spaces that make it easy for the participants to engage in a transformation process.
Modul 2 - Dealing with complexity
Topics in this module include: Ambiguity tolerance, levers for change, visualisation and sensualisation of complexity, dealing with fuzzy, moving goals, phase and layer separation, dealing with edge emotions, taming complexity.
Tools and approaches that we will introduce and partly practice in this module include 3 horizons, complexity trees, mapping, evolution lines, tetralemma, deep listening, graphic facilitation, seventh generation, circle of influence.
How can we make complex issues understandable and manageable so that they involve and motivate those involved and affected to participate? How can we do justice to the complexity of the topics related to our transformation process without overwhelming and overburdening those involved with its multidimensional nature? How can we set binding goals and shape the future in a world with many unknowns that are also constantly changing? In this module we will explore how to make complexity tangible and how to surf on it with confidence.
Modul 3 - Tapping into collective wisdom and creativity
The focus of this module is on a large and a small future forge in which we work together on challenges brought along from the practice of individual participants. We will collectively take them forward and you will get to know open innovation tools in the process. Furthermore, in this module you will learn how to orchestrate creative processes yourself and harness the power of imagination for transformation processes.
Tools and approaches that we will introduce in this module and partly apply in practice include future forge, open innovation, vision techniques, guided freewriting, magnetic image, muse kiss model, dream circle, presencing, dare to ask.
Modul 4 - Motivation, Activation, Commitment & Harvesting
Topics covered in this module include:
How can we win over people who are at the centre of a transformation process, involve them, strengthen their motivation and commitment so that the process is supported, wanted and shaped by many? How can we deal constructively with resistance? What helps to maintain stamina in lean periods or in long-term transformation processes?
In this module, we will also look back on the course, you will reap your personal harvest and explore how you can optimally use what you have learned professionally and privately, integrate it into your everyday life and into your upcoming transformation processes.
Tools and approaches that we will present and partly apply in this module include A promise is a promise, the next elegant step, inner bodyguard, expiry date, decision making tools, storytelling, different ways of harvesting, art of celebration.
